Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine [IDM], University of Cape Town

The Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IDM) is a trans-Faculty, multi-disciplinary postgraduate research enterprise that operates in the fields of infectious disease and molecular medicine research. Situated on the health sciences campus of the University of Cape Town, the IDM is internationally recognised as able to drive world-class research at the laboratory-clinic-community interface. There are more than 20 member research groups, including 3 major groups: CIDRI (Clinical Infectious Diseases Research Initiative), the DTHF & DTHC (Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation & DTH Centre) and SATVI.
